There is so much choice of software out there.It's a minefield to sort though all the packages on the market. They range from free, downloadable basic packages to expensive, all singing, all dancing packages that have all the trimmings from flash moving graphics to virtual chat assistants.

Do I Need To Have..The Wow! Factor:
Is cutting edge design to give the wow factor is your prime objective. Unless you are a competent programmer, it will take a long time to learn and master the expensive software (despite promises of how easy it is) that can achieve these effects.
Alternatively, you could pay a consultant to build it for you, which is good and quick if you have the cash to spare. If you take this route, make sure you agree a price and exactly what the designer will prepare before going ahead. You also need to find out if there any extra charges for or limitations on updates unless you take over once the shell of the design is made.
The Lowest Possible Cost:
Many large hosting companies throw in an optional free website builder when they host your domain. Many of these are very easy to use but usually lack ecommerce functionality, support and have a very limited number of pages included. If you want more, you normally have to pay for it.
A Fully Functional Website and Shopping Cart at a Reasonable Price.
This is the business reality for most of us so you don't pay too much but at the same time won't be stuck for too long. You will need to put a bit of time in yourself, but not an excessive amount.
